What does flatten do?

Flatten rasterizes each watermarked page into an image with the watermark burned in. That makes the watermark harder to remove, but text on those pages won’t be selectable and file size can grow.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Keep “Apply to all pages” on and enter a range like 1-5, 8—or turn it off to watermark only the page you’re previewing.

Are PNG and JPEG both OK for image watermarks?

Yes. PNG is best for logos with transparency; JPEG works for photos.
